Some of you might still remember him from the older comics. RoRo Pirato is, along with Anton Rights, one of those characters that changes a lot in the course of years. I pretty much settled down with Anton's design back in 2000, but RoRo had to change, again.
The villain who once started out as just a regular pirate guy, slowly evolved in a slick, smooth talking, gang leader. I wanted to step away from the whole "they're pirates" concept, and make him more of a criminal with only a few things that are somewhat related to pirates. I think this design serves it's purpose.
Mind this is just a simple sketch on a A5 sized sheet of recycled paper, colored in Photoshop CS2 at 1:30. I might make a more detailed version soon, as things look now, RoRo might become a pretty awesome villain. |
